Memorandum of Understanding-IPSF-Green Lung

In conjunction with Green Lung Carnival 2010, Green Lung has successfully fostered a collaboration with International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF)

Background of IPSF

IPSF is the leading international advocacy organization of pharmacy students promoting improved public health through provision of information, education and professional activities. IPSF's aim is to offer pharmacy profession worldwide, including in socially and medically neglected areas. Since establishment in 1949, IPSF now represents more than 350,000 pharmacy students and recent graduates in 84 countries worldwide.
IPSF-APRO is Asia Pacific Regional Office for IPSF.

The objective of this Memorandum is to provide the framework for the collaboration between Green Lung and IPSF to create and promote the smoke-free initiatives and tobacco control campaigns among the communities in IPSF through experience sharing and technical assistance.

Statements of Collaboration
1.Green Lung shall be the IPSF-APRO Collaborating Centre and Clearinghouse for Tobacco Control in Asia Pacific region.
2.Green Lung shall be committed to collecting, analyzing, organizing and disseminating the reliable and evidence-based information pertaining to tobacco use and tobacco control campaigns.
3.Green Lung shall be willing to share their experience and ideas with any youth tobacco control organizations within Asia Pacific region in hope of expanding the network and increasing the working leverages.
4.Green Lung shall be willing to share their experience and ideas as well as deliver the know-how to any party within Asia Pacific region who wishes to set up a youth tobacco control organization or to organize a tobacco control campaign wherever possible in hope of building the youth capacity for tobacco control in Asia Pacific region.
5.IPSF-APRO shall be coordinating and regulating the tobacco control campaigns and activities within Asia Pacific region.
6.IPSF-APRO shall be assisting in linking up the youth tobacco control organizations within Asia Pacific region including Green Lung to establish a network for tobacco control in Asia Pacific.

With this, hopefully that IPSF and Green Lung would work more closely together to create more smoke-free environments in Asia Pacific region and disseminate the information regarding the tobacco product use among the public.
